The field service technician will focus on improving performance, productivity, efficiency, and leads the troubleshooting of the painting and striping equipment. A hands-on problem solver who thrives on interacting with foreman, operators, and presidents (at multiple locations in various states) and ensuring their success. You don’t just install equipment — you bring it to life through teaching and training. Position reports directly to the Director of Operations for Gulf Management. This position can be based out of the Memphis, TN or Little Rock, AR area.

Responsibilities:
- Perform new product installations at locations in three states (Louisiana, Arkansas, and Tennessee).
- Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware, software, and mechanical product issues both on-site and remotely.
- Provide hands-on training on Skip-Line systems, ensuring all employees know how to operate them effectively.
- Regularly work with low-voltage DC electrical systems during installation and support.
- Deliver fanatical customer service — ensuring every crew feels supported and confident.
- Develop expertise in pavement marking controls and educate employees on the features and benefits of Skip-Line products.
- Suggest and implement process improvements to increase installation efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Improve operational systems, processes, and best practices that guarantee organizational well-being.
- Monitor data logging reports to ensure DOTD specifications are being followed.
- Partner with all GMI supported companies and business process manager to develop training SOPs for new equipment and new technology through the passport program.
- Frequent job site visits to ensure the quality standards are being met and SOPs are being utilized.
- Oversee and manage new technology from gathering product requirements to the installation of the product to each GMI supported company and ensuring that team members are trained safely and properly.
- Leads the analysis of truck utilization and quality metrics to establish best in class practices.
- Partner with companies and fleet manager to implement preventive maintenance programs.
- Analyze downtime reasons to assist with corrective actions to minimize repeat down time.
- Conduct frequent training sessions to ensure that SOPs are being followed safely and with quality.
- Develop quality metrics and a quality system to ensure retro reflectivity requirements are met on all required jobs.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required (required)
- Basic 12V DC electricity/wiring experience (required)
- Skilled in electrical or mechanical installation work
- Experience in the pavement marking industry or with pavement marking equipment is highly preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to travel frequently – up to 60% (required)
- Authorized to work in the U.S. (required)
- Possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License (required) .
- Basic IT skills (databases, MS Office etc).
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
